The levels are basically identical to the Genesis version, with the bloody demise of opponents include. The Terminator has already hit the Super NES and Genesis systems, and now it is on the Game Gear. In the future, the mother of all battles will take place between man and machine. Check out what these two metal-heads are up to now, and you'll stay for the end. The Terminator if you like fast-moving, hard-hitting, nonstop action on your Game Gear. The music is unimpressive, but that's okay because the action fills the gap.
There are some nice vocal effects using Robocop's patented tag lines. The backgrounds are good, and some small details, like Robocop's face on the TV screens in the OCP offices, are retained. There's still a lot of blood in this one, too. The graphics in this Game Gear cart are surprisingly good, with such attention paid to the detail that it closely matches its Genesis cousin. There are also life bar power-ups and 1 -ups strewn throughout the stages. You start with Robocop's patented slime-stopping pistol, but you can find other guns, like a rapid-fire missile launcher and a laser rifle. You battle Endoskeletons, gun-toting maniacs, robotic renegades, and all sorts of other metallic misfits. This side-scroller will take you through the slums, into a toxic warehouse, and eventually into the future to battle the Terminator. It seems that old Termie has infiltrated New Detroit and is crossing paths with Robocop. You play as Robocop in your search for the Terminator. Robocop wants a piece of the Terminator's hide, and the Temni-nator wants a shot at the chrome cop. One button shoots, another jumps, and another switches weapons. The music is standard background noise, but the sound effects (the agonized screams of the bad guys to the metal movement of an opponent) are absolutely outstanding. The backgrounds have neat little touches, like Robocop's face on the TV screens. Every enemy is quick, destructive, and realistically illustrated. The graphics in this game are awesome, if you can wade through the gore and still see the score. Intermediate gamers will breeze through this one with a little patience. There are some secret rooms with 1-ups that'll allow you to maximize your game play, but you may not even need that as this game is pretty easy. The bullets will hit any enemies above you. If you get Homing Bullets, shoot up and Jump.
There are three 1-ups in this secret room, and you can return again and again for them. Jump toward the wall and fire and you're in. There is a secret OCP office to the left of this line.
